How to Apply
This page provides important information for students interested in applying for a VET program through the Sunbury Macedon Ranges VET Cluster (SMRVC). It outlines how to apply, and key timelines.
Start by speaking with your school’s VET Coordinator or Careers Practitioner to discuss whether a VET course is the right fit for you.

You’ll discuss:
-
Your interests and career goals
-
How the course fits with VCE, VCE VM or VPC
-
Workplace learning requirements
-
Course locations and providers
-
Whether the course may impact your ATAR

If you choose to proceed, your school will submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the SMRVC.

VET places are allocated using a priority system, with second-year students continuing their course given first priority.

EOIs usually open in Term 3 for the following year.
-
All students completing nationally recognised training must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).

A USI is a free reference number that records your training achievements across Australia.

Apply online at: www.usi.gov.au

If you need help, contact your school’s VET Coordinator.
If you are offered a place, you will complete a VET enrolment form with your parent or guardian.

Your school will provide your details to the Host School or Registered Training Organisation (RTO) delivering the course.

Additional steps may include:
-
Providing ID documents
-
Providing school reports
-
Completing a Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment (if required)

Once enrolled, you will receive details about orientation, course start dates and locations.
