VET AWARDS

Celebrating Excellence in Vocational Education

Each year, the Central Ranges LLEN and Hume Whittlesea LLEN, facilitate the vocational education awards across our region,  providing an opportunity to recognise and celebrate students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement, commitment and enthusiasm in their vocational education pathway.

The awards help raise the profile of vocational education among young people, families, schools and industry, while celebrating students undertaking VET, VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM), Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) and School-Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship (SBAT) programs.

What makes these awards particularly special is that students are selected and nominated by their own schools.

Schools are invited to identify students who have stood out through their achievements, attitude and commitment to their chosen pathway. Each school can recognise up to four students – one in each award category.

Students are considered for their:

  • competence in skills, knowledge and attitude

  • commitment to their VET, VCE VM, VPC or SBAT program

  • contribution as a productive member of their class or workplace

  • positive attitude and advocacy for vocational education

  • achievements and, where applicable, feedback or recommendations from employers and training providers.

VET AWARD CATEGORIES

Students may be recognised in one of four categories:

  • VET in Schools Achievement Award

  • VCE Vocational Major Achievement Award

  • Victorian Pathways Certificate Achievement Award

  • School-Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship (SBAT) Achievement Award
